Tenute Nicosia is Forbes 100 iconic wineries
Very proud to hear and share this fantastic news — bravo, Graziano Nicosia!
The Sicilian winery Tenute Nicosia has been honored with the prestigious Forbes 100 Iconic Wineries 2025 award. This recognition was presented to Graziano Nicosia, who represents the fifth generation of a family that has been crafting exceptional wines on Mount Etna since 1898.
Bunch by bunch, only handpicked grapes. Same family, making great wines for over 125 years. At La Sicilyana, we are especially proud to independently import a selection of their outstanding wines to the UK.
Forbes Italia highlighted not only the quality of their wines, but also their ongoing commitment to sustainability, both environmental and social, and to protecting the land by focusing on native grape varieties from Mount Etna.
To name a few, Nerello Mascalese and Cappuccio, the grapes of Etna Rosso DOC, or Carricante, the wonderful white bunch for the making of the iconic Etna Bianco.
Tenute Nicosia’s vineyards are certified organic and managed with deep respect for biodiversity. Their sustainability journey is supported by:
🌱 VIVA Certification, Italy’s most advanced sustainability initiative in viticulture, promoted by the Ministry of the Environment
♻️ Membership in the SOStain Foundation, led by Consorzio DOC Sicilia and Assovini Sicilia, promoting responsible environmental, social, and ethical practices in Sicilian winemaking
🌍 SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) international certification, affirming their adherence to ethical labor and resource management standards
Congratulations to Tenute Nicosia for your outstanding commitment and excellent winemaking!
