Italian food is UNESCO Heritage!

Italian food is UNESCO Heritage!

“Adopted!”
This is an hystoric day for Italy and Italians around the world.
UNESCO has officially recognised Italian cuisine as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The decision was made today by the Intergovernmental Committee meeting in New Delhi, following previous recognitions such as the art of Neapolitan pizza-making.

Italy is the first country in the world to receive this honour — a recognition that celebrates our identity and cultural heritage.

For Italians, cuisine is far more than food or a collection of recipes. It is culture, tradition, work, and shared wealth.

So, when you see an Italian looking horrified if you put cream in the Carbonara, pineapple on pizza, jam in the Bolognese ragù or ask for "Fettuccine Alfredo", we are not being fussy.

We are protecting the heritage of every nonna efforts to cook a great home made dish, every mamma going every single morning to the local market for seasonal and fresh products to use in freshly made, tasty meals for the family.
Centuries of tradition, culture and sublime taste!

The multi Michelin Star Chef Massimo Bottura - owner of the World's Best Restaurant "Osteria Francescana" in Modena - beautifully says:
"Italian cuisine is a ritual of love that brings people together. Around the table, we share memories, disagree, make peace and pass stories on.
Every Italian region carries its own grammar of taste and this diversity is our true richness. Italian cuisine is a living heritage, built daily by farmers, artisans and cooks — and recognised not just for what it produces, but for its power to create community and connection."

E scusate se è poco!
